Gautam Gambhir: Former Indian opener Gautam Gambhir has become the new head coach of Team India and has replaced Rahul Dravid. However, as soon as he became the coach, he has made a big statement, which is being considered a big taunt on legendary batsmen Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma.
Actually, both Virat and Rohit had announced their retirement from this format after winning the T20 World Cup 2024. After this, they will never be seen playing in this format for India. However, now Gambhir has given such a statement, which is being considered a taunt on him.

Both Virat and Rohit had announced their retirement from this format after winning the T20 World Cup 2024. With this it became clear that both of them will now be seen playing only in two formats for Team India.
Both Rohit and Virat have played many memorable innings for India in the T20 format and both have scored more than 4000 runs in T20 Internationals. Before the World Cup, both Kohli and Sharma were considered out of the T20 team but both of them decided to leave this format on their own after the World Cup.
Gambhir has been appointed as the head coach of Team India by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and BCCI secretary Jay Shah has announced this. In such a situation, after becoming the head coach of Team India, now after talking to Star Sports, he has given a big statement.
Gambhir said that “I believe that if you are a good player then you can play in all three formats.” In such a situation, Gautam's statement is now being linked to Virat and Rohit because both of them have announced their retirement from the T20 format.
Gambhir will take over the coaching responsibility of Team India from the Sri Lanka tour starting on July 26. On this tour, the Indian team has to play a 3-match T20 and a 3-match ODI series. This tour will mark the beginning of the Gambhir era and he will remain the head coach of India till 2027.
Gautam made Kolkata the champion in his very first season and since then he was considered the biggest contender for the post of head coach of Team India and now he has occupied this post.
