Mohammed Shami: Team India's legendary batsmen Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma have recently announced their retirement from the T20 format after winning the T20 World Cup title. After Rohit-Virat's retirement, legendary all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has also said goodbye to the shorter format.
According to media reports, veteran fast bowler Mohammed Shami has also decided to retire. After which it is believed that Mohammed Shami may also soon formally announce his retirement from international T20 cricket.

Mohammed Shami made his T20 debut for Team India against Pakistan in 2014. Since playing against Pakistan in the 2014 T20 World Cup, Mohammed Shami has played 23 T20 matches for Team India. In these 23 T20 matches, Mohammed Shami has taken only 24 wickets.
Talking about the age of Mohammed Shami, he is now 33 years old. In such a situation, if he has to play for Team India at the international level for a long time, then Shami will have to say goodbye to one format. Due to which it is believed that Mohammed Shami can decide to retire from the T20 format very soon.
Talking about Mohammed Shami, he started his international T20 format career for Team India 10 years ago. Between the year 2014 and the year 2024, Shami has played only 23 T20 matches.
Talking about Mohammed Shami's last international T20 format match, he played against England in the semi-final match of the T20 World Cup in the year 2022. In such a situation, Mohammed Shami has not represented Team India in the T20 format for more than 20 months.
Mohammed Shami played his last international match for Team India in the World Cup held in 2023. Since the World Cup 2023, Mohammed Shami has been seen recovering from his ankle injury. Mohammed Shami is currently undergoing rehab at the National Cricket Academy (NCA).
In such a situation, according to the update given by BCCI Secretary Jay Shah on Mohammed Shami, Mohammed Shami does not seem to be making a comeback at the international level from the Test series on the Bangladesh tour.
