When Mishra was asked whether the franchise will keep Rahul as the captain in the next season or will go for a better option, Mishra said directly without hesitation that the franchise will go for a better option.

There was a dispute with Goenka

The Lucknow franchise made its debut in the IPL in 2022 and Rahul was made the captain of the team in the very first season. Under Rahul's captaincy, the franchise competed for 3 consecutive years, out of which the team reached the playoffs in the first and second years but failed in the third season i.e. IPL 2024.
