Rohit Sharma after winning the T20 World Cup 2024 (Rohit Sharma) and Virat Kohli said goodbye to this format. Due to this, speculations started arising as to when both of them will say goodbye to ODI and Test cricket i.e. international cricket. Now spinner Amit Mishra has broken his silence on this matter. He has said that both of them will probably say goodbye to international cricket after the Champions Trophy 2025.

Mishra said, “Rohit Sharma still has two-three years of cricket left, but he will not play in the ODI World Cup in 2027. He will play in the IPL. He will retire from international cricket in two years. Probably Virat Kohli will also retire at the same time after the Champions Trophy 2025. They both will retire from international cricket together and they will have to retire for the next generation. If they do not retire, how will new players come into the team? They are already 35+, and at the time of retirement, they will be around 39. So, players play till this age, maximum 40.”

Apart from this, Mishra also talked about the behavior of both the players. He said that Virat Kohli has changed due to fame and power but there has been no change in Rohit Sharma from the beginning till now. Mishra said, “The difference is in nature. Rohit is very open with his players. One very good thing about Rohit is that when I met him for the first time, he was the same as he is now. After gaining fame, power and captaincy, there was a lot of change in Virat. There used to be very little conversation between us. When you get power, you feel that everyone is talking to you for some reason.”

Mishra is 41 years old but he has not played international cricket yet. He played his last international match in 2017. Mishra has played 22 Tests, 36 ODIs and 10 T20 Internationals for India so far and has taken 76, 64 and 16 wickets respectively.
