Team India's Sri Lanka tour is starting from 27th July. But, do you know that before facing the host team in Sri Lanka, Team India will be seen facing its arch rival Pakistan? Yes, absolutely. And, this will happen in the Women's T20 Asia Cup, which is going to start from 19th July. India's women's cricket team will start its campaign in this competition on the very first day i.e. 19th July, where its first match is against Pakistan.
Now the first match of the T20 series between the men's team of India and Sri Lanka is on 27th July. And, the Indian women's team is going to play against Pakistan on 19th July. This means that just 8 days before facing Sri Lanka in men's cricket, Team India will be seen facing the challenge of Pakistan. This match between the women's teams of India and Pakistan will be played in Dambulla.
Women's T20 Asia Cup is to be held from July 19 to July 28. For this tournament, 8 Asian teams have been divided into two groups. Apart from India-Pakistan, UAE and Nepal are in one group. Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Malaysia and Thailand are in the other group.
Due to being in different groups, the women's teams of India and Sri Lanka will not face each other in the group stage. However, India and Sri Lanka may clash in the semi-finals of the Women's T20 Asia Cup on July 26. If this happens, a cricket battle between India and Sri Lanka may be seen even before the men's team's series begins.
