After India's victory in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024, India's star all-rounder Hardik Pandya was welcomed like a hero on his return to his hometown Baroda. Now the all-rounder thanked the crowd of Baroda for this thing. Let us tell you that Pandya returned to his hometown on Monday, 15 July and was given a warm welcome as a special road show was organized to welcome him.
A large number of fans came out on the streets to see Hardik, who welcomed him by waving their hands from the top of the bus. Pandya danced around to the beat of drums while waving the tricolor. Now Hardik has thanked the Baroda crowd through a social media post. The star all-rounder wrote on the post, “Baroda, thank you for your love, thank you for your support and thank you for making this day so special. So many emotions, but always grateful.”
Pandya played an important role in helping India win the T20 World Cup. He scored 144 runs with the bat at a strike rate of 151.57. During this, he also scored a half-century. His highest score came in the Super 8 against Bangladesh when he scored an unbeaten half-century of 50* (27). He also left his mark in bowling. He bowled in eight innings in the tournament. During this, he took 11 wickets at an economy rate of 7.64. Hardik's best performance was seen in the final. He took 3 wickets for 20 runs in three overs.
These 3 wickets included the valuable wickets of Heinrich Klaasen (52 off 27 balls) and David Miller (21 off 17 balls). Miller was out on the very first ball of Hardik in the last over due to a breathtaking catch by Suryakumar Yadav and India won the match by seven runs. With this, India won an ICC trophy after 11 years under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma. After this T20 World Cup, Rohit, Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja retired from T20 International.
