The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has appointed former India opener Gautam Gambhir as the new head coach of Team India. Now he is all set to replace Rahul Dravid and will take over his responsibility from the Sri Lanka tour.

Gambhir can give a chance to some of his favorite players on this tour and this includes a flop player, who can be given a chance in the T-20 team against Sri Lanka.

Actually, Gambhir was announced as the new head coach of Team India by BCCI secretary Jay Shah and now he is ready to take up his responsibility. Gambhir's tour of Sri Lanka will be his first assignment as head coach.

Earlier, Gautam had made his team champion as the mentor of Kolkata and since then his name had become the frontrunner in the race for the next coach of India and now he has become the head coach of the team.

This flop player may get a chance in the team

Let us tell you that after Gautam became the coach, young batsman Nitish Rana can be included in the team on the Sri Lanka tour and he can also be given a chance in the playing eleven. Rana has not been performing well for some time but despite this he can still be included in the team.

Rana has not played much cricket for some time as he was injured during IPL 2024 and due to this he was able to participate in only two matches this season but failed to perform well in that too.

If we look at Rana's IPL career, he has not performed well in any season. He made his debut in the Indian Premier League in 2016 but so far he has scored more than 400 runs only once in his career.
