Team India will play the first T20 match against Sri Lanka from July 27. This match will be organized at the Pallekele ground. The first ODI will be played in Colombo on August 2. If reports are to be believed, Suryakumar Yadav will lead India in the T20 format.

Rohit Sharma can be given the command of the team for the ODI series. Earlier, some media reports claimed that the Hitman has asked for rest from the Sri Lanka tour. Now Hindustan Times has reported that Rohit will not only play in the upcoming series but will also take over the captaincy.

These players including Hardik Pandya will be out

Hardik Pandya has sought leave from BCCI citing personal reasons from the ODI series against Sri Lanka. Apart from this, three other Mumbai Indians players including Suryakumar Yadav, Jaspreet Bumrah, Ishan Kishan and Tilak Verma may have to sit out in this series.

Bumrah is likely to be rested after the T20 World Cup 2024 to manage the workload. On the other hand, Ishan and Tilak will need to wait longer to return to the team.
