At the stumps on the first day of the second Test match being played at Trent Bridge, Nottingham, the entire England team was all out for 416 runs in 88.3 overs against West Indies. Ollie Pope, Ben Duckett and captain Ben Stokes played brilliant innings for England. In the second Test match, West Indies captain Craig Brathwaite won the toss and decided to bowl first.

Ollie Pope scored the most runs for England. He scored a century of 121 runs in 167 balls with the help of 15 fours and a six. Pope scored the sixth century of his Test career in 143 balls. Ben Duckett scored a half-century of 71 runs in 59 balls with the help of 14 fours. Duckett and Pope made a century partnership of 105 (112) runs for the second wicket. Captain Ben Stokes scored a half-century of 69 runs in 104 balls with the help of 8 fours.

Chris Woakes scored 37 runs in 48 balls with the help of 3 fours. Harry Brook scored 36 runs in 34 balls with the help of 5 fours and a six.
