5 young Indian Cricketers who gives credit for their success to their father: There was a time when parents used to stop their children from making a career in cricket. At that time, they believed that players get injured a lot in cricket and after the career ends at an early age, there are no opportunities to do anything further.
However, times have changed now. Many Indian cricketers have left behind Bollywood stars and businessmen in terms of earnings. This is the reason why parents now do not stop their children from making a career in cricket, but rather support them. In this article, we will mention five young Indian players who give credit for their success to their fathers.
1. Harshit Rana
Young fast bowler Harshit Rana got a call for the national team for the first time this month. He got a place in the squad as a replacement for Nitish Reddy on the Zimbabwe tour. However, he did not get to play his debut match.
Despite this, Harshit has been given a place in India's squad for the ODI series against Sri Lanka. Immediately after the team was announced, Harshit made a special post on social media and gave the credit to his father.
2. Shubman Gill
Shubman Gill's father Lakhwinder Singh used to be a farmer in Fazilka, a small district of Punjab. Gill is currently the captain of Gujarat Titans in the IPL and is the vice-captain of India in ODIs and T20s.
However, Gill's journey to become a cricketer was not easy. His father decided to leave his village and settle in Chandigarh to get better coaching for Shubhman. Lakhwinder Singh has made many sacrifices to make his son a cricketer.
3. Nitish Kumar Reddy
Nitish Kumar Reddy got a place in India's squad for the Zimbabwe tour, but he could not participate in the series due to injury. Reddy got a call from the national team after performing well in IPL 2024.
Nitish comes from a middle class family of Visakhapatnam. When Nitish was 8 years old and was about to start his training camp, his father Mutyala was transferred to Rajasthan. Mutyala left his job to fulfill his son's dream. Nitish also lived up to his father's trust.
4. Sarfaraz Khan
Sarfaraz Khan caught everyone's attention by playing brilliant innings for Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL 2015. However, despite this, he was not included in the national team. Then he scored runs consistently in domestic cricket, due to which Sarfaraz got a chance to make his Test debut this year.
After his debut, Sarfaraz had said that his father Naushad Khan had been dreaming of making him a cricketer since he was just 6 years old. Naushad Khan became very emotional after seeing his son getting the debut cap.
5. Abhishek Sharma
If Abhishek Sharma has become a cricketer today, his father Rajkumar has played an important role in it. He was seen standing with his son in every difficult time. When Abhishek was out on a duck in his debut T20 International match, his father said that Abhishek has reached there because of his ability to hit sixes. The young player scored a century in the very next match. Apart from this, Abhishek also started bowling on the insistence of his father.
