In such a situation, the female athletes of this country will have to play in the Olympics this time without wearing hijab, which has attracted the attention of the whole world.

This country's female athletes will play in the Olympics without hijab

France is hosting the Olympics 2024. About 550 athletes from France will participate in these games. The French team is in the news a lot these days. Actually, France has banned its female athletes from wearing hijab. In September last year, France's Sports Minister Emily Castra had given this decision, which has come back into the headlines as the Olympics are approaching.

In September 2023, French Sports Minister Emily Oudea-Castera announced that no French athlete would be allowed to wear a headscarf during the Olympic Games. This includes both the Paris Olympics 2024 and the Paralympic Games to be held later. In a statement issued, the Sports Minister said that representatives of our delegation in our French team will not wear hijab, which is linked to the rule of strict secularism strictly implemented in the field of sports. This is being done to show all athletes equally under the secularism law. However, this decision has been criticized worldwide.

On the other hand, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) has confirmed that athletes will be free to wear hijab in the Olympic Athletes Village. An IOC spokesperson told news agency Reuters that in the sports village, IOC rules will apply. There will be no restriction on wearing hijab or any religion-cultural attire.

This decision was given during Ramzan last year

During Ramadan last year, the French Football Federation (FFF) ordered referees not to stop matches during Iftaari time. The order said that these interruptions are against the FFF rules. During this time, the FFF confirmed that it would not make any changes in the eating and training times to suit Muslim players.
