Sri Lankan batsman Kusal Mendis has created a stir in the Lanka Premier League (LPL). Its fifth season is going on and the second qualifier was played on Saturday, July 20. This match was between Jaffna Kings and Kandy Falcons. In this match, Mendis rained fours and sixes. Not only this, Mendis, who played for Jaffna Kings, scored a century in just 51 balls. He was chosen as the Player of the Match for his explosive innings.
Kusal Mendis scored 105 runs in his innings by playing 54 balls at a strike rate of 194. During this, he hit 12 fours and 5 sixes, but Mendis, who batted so explosively in LPL, does not even get a chance to play in IPL. Actually, many cricket boards nominate their players to play in IPL. After this, they have to fulfill the criteria of BCCI. Many Sri Lankan players play in IPL, but they have not been able to play a single season yet. Not only this, his performance has not been so good for some time while playing for his country. Due to this, questions were also raised about his place in the Sri Lankan team. He could not perform well in the T20 World Cup as well and his team was eliminated in the first round itself.
