After losing to India, the Pakistani cricket team often wakes up and then its players are seen playing with full fighting spirit on the field. This was also seen in the T20 World Cup last month, when Pakistan was defeated by Team India and after that it won its next match. The situation of Pakistan's women's team is also similar. After suffering a crushing defeat against Team India two days ago in the Women's Asia Cup 2024 being played in Sri Lanka, Pakistan defeated Nepal by 9 wickets in its next match.
Nepal and Pakistan were facing each other in the sixth match of the Asia Cup being played in Dambulla. Nepal had won its first match, while Pakistan had to face defeat. In such a situation, Pakistan needed to win this match at any cost to remain in the race for the semi-finals. Pakistani players gave their best performance on such an occasion. Although, Nepal's team was not much stronger than that, but still there was a danger of defeat.
Nepal batted first in this match but its top order could not do anything special. The whole team could score only 108 runs after losing 6 wickets in 20 overs. Opener Sita Rana scored 26 runs in 30 balls, while Pooja Mahato scored 25 runs in 32 balls. Both of their innings were slow, but after this, the seventh number batsman Kabita Joshi scored 31 runs in just 23 balls, due to which the Nepal team was able to reach this score. The reason for this condition of Nepal was their poor running and 3 batsmen were run out. For Pakistan, Sadia Iqbal took 2 wickets for just 19 runs.
This target was not very big for Pakistan but looking at the performance of the last match, it was difficult to say anything. The pair of openers Gul Ferozza and Muniba Ali did not let this happen this time. Both of them had single-handedly ensured victory. There was a tremendous partnership of 105 runs between these two in 11.2 overs. During this, Gul Ferozza scored her first half-century in just 30 balls. She was finally out after scoring 57 runs in 35 balls, which included 10 fours. Muniba returned unbeaten after scoring 46 runs in 34 balls. Pakistan's next match will be against UAE while Nepal's will be against India.
