BCCI recently announced the 15-member squad for the three-match T20 series against Sri Lanka starting July 27. However, the names of two important players were missing from this team. Actually we are talking about Abhishek Sharma and Rituraj Gaikwad.

Both these players impressed everyone with their batting on the Zimbabwe tour. Despite this, they were dropped from the very next series. When Gautam Gambhir and Ajit Agarkar were asked about this during the press conference, Agarkar replied,

“The players who have been dropped will obviously feel that this is unfair. Just look at Rinku, he performed brilliantly before the T20 World Cup. Despite this, he failed to make it to the World Cup team. We can only select 15 players.”

The performance was excellent on the Zimbabwe tour

Recently, Team India went on a tour to Zimbabwe to play a five-match T20 series. In this series, the performance of both Ruturaj Gaikwad and Abhishek Sharma was very good during this series. Abhishek scored a brilliant century in his second T20 match.

Apart from this, right-handed batsman Ruturaj, batting at number three and four, played strong innings of 49 and 77 runs.
