Team India's fast bowler Mohammed Shami is currently away from cricket. Shami played his last match in the ODI World Cup last year. Since then, he is in recovery mode from his injury. Now 9 months have passed, during this time some pictures of Shami's bowling practice have also surfaced on social media. In such a situation, the big question is when will he return to Team India again? When and where will Shami play his next and first match of the year 2024? There was a lot of buzz in Gautam Gambhir's press conference regarding this big question.
In Gautam Gambhir's press conference, Chief Selector Ajit Agarkar answered the question related to Mohammed Shami's return to Team India. As per Agarkar's statement, if everything goes well, Shami can be seen making a comeback in the Indian team from the 2 Test series against Bangladesh starting from 19 September.
Know in detail what Chief Selector Ajit Agarkar said. According to Agarkar, Shami has started bowling. The Test series against Bangladesh is from 19th September. We believe that Shami can make a comeback from that series. However, the final decision on this will be taken only after he gets a clean chit from the NCA.
Agarkar said that before selecting Shami, he will talk to the National Cricket Academy. He will take a report from them about Shami's fitness and recovery from injury. Only after that will he decide on selecting him in the team.
Mohammed Shami has missed big events like IPL and T20 World Cup in 2024 due to injury. He is also out of the Sri Lanka tour due to the same reason. But, now if everything goes well, as Agarkar has indicated, he can once again be seen in Team India's jersey in the Test series against Bangladesh in September.
