The Indian cricket team has left for the Sri Lanka tour. On this tour, Team India has to play a 3-match T20 and an equal number of ODI series, which is going to start from July 27. This is Gautam Gambhir's first assignment as head coach. But it is still not known who will work in the coaching staff during his 3-year tenure. Former Team India all-rounder Abhishek Nayak and former Netherlands batsman Ryan Ten Deutsche have been included in the coaching staff for the Sri Lanka tour. At the same time, T Dilip will play the role of fielding coach and Sairaj Bahutule is the interim bowling coach for the Sri Lanka tour. But it is not yet clear who among them will remain in the coaching staff. In fact, Gambhir himself said that details about the sporting staff will be known after the Sri Lanka tour. He said that I am very happy with the BCCI. They gave me most of the things that I had asked for. Detailed information about the sporting staff will be available after the Sri Lanka tour.
According to reports, Abhishek Nair and Ryan Ten Deutsche can be appointed as assistant coaches. At the same time, former South African fast bowler Morne Morkel will play the role of bowling coach in Gambhir's coaching team. Apart from this, T Dilip will remain with the team and will play the role of fielding coach. T Dilip and Abhishek Nair have left for Sri Lanka tour with the team. On the other hand, Ryan Ten Deutsche will directly join the team in Sri Lanka. Ten Deutsche is currently part of the coaching staff of LA Knight Riders in Major League Cricket (MLC) and he is in America. It is not yet known when Morne Morkel will be a part of the team.
Gautam Gambhir has worked with Morne Morkel, Abhishek Nair and Ryan Ten Doeschate for different teams in the IPL. On many occasions, Gambhir has been seen praising these veterans. Now all these veterans are ready to work together for Team India.
