A big news related to the Afghanistan cricket team has come out. The Afghanistan team captained by Rashid Khan will soon be seen playing a test match in India. But the special thing is that the Afghanistan team will not play the match against Team India. Afghanistan will play this test match as a host and will face a foreign team. This match will be played in Greater Noida.
According to media reports, the Board of Control for Cricket in India has allotted 3 venues to the Afghanistan cricket team to play the match. These three venues are Greater Noida, Kanpur and Lucknow. In such a situation, the Afghanistan team will play a Test match against New Zealand in September. This match will be played at the Shaheed Vijay Singh Pathik Sports Complex in Greater Noida. The special thing is that this will be the first Test match in cricket history between the two teams.
India has once again extended its hand to support the Afghanistan team. Earlier also, the Afghanistan team has played its home series in Greater Noida. BCCI had allotted the venue to Afghanistan in the year 2015 as well. Afghanistan was supposed to play a series of three ODIs, three T20s and two Test matches against Bangladesh in the month of July in Greater Noida itself, but due to the heat, this series could not be held.
This Test match is going to be very important for the Afghanistan team. Their team has performed very well in recent times. In the T20 World Cup 2024, Afghanistan even defeated a big team like New Zealand. In that match, Afghanistan created history by winning by 84 runs. In the match, Afghanistan, playing first, scored 159 for the loss of 6 wickets in 20 overs, in response to which the New Zealand team was reduced to just 75 runs.
