Former Indian team captain and legendary player Kapil Dev wished Anshuman Gaikwad a speedy recovery through social media and further said, "Hi Anshu, I know you are going through a tough time. But it doesn't matter. We all have gone through tough times in life. I remember all the good days. The first time I played under your captaincy, you were my captain.
And I remember you scored two hundred against Pakistan in Jalandhar when I was the captain. Very good memories. Bad tough times come and go. But I know you are a warrior. Come on, be happy and try to live the life that God has given you and I wish you keep getting better and better and be happy.”
Let us tell you that, as soon as the news of Anshuman Gaikwad's cancer was received, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) took a big decision and gave Rs 1 crore to Anshuman Gaikwad for cancer treatment. Due to which this decision of BCCI was highly appreciated. Anshuman Gaikwad was a part of Team India in the World Cup 1983 and the team won the World Cup for the first time.
