Paris Olympics 2024 was awaited for a long time. Finally, on 26 July, the French flag was hoisted on the bridge of the Seine River in the presence of chief guest French President Emmanuel Macron and IOC President Thomas Bach. With this, the grand opening ceremony began. More than 10 thousand athletes have set out on a 6 kilometer long journey on 100 boats on the Seine River. This is the first time in the history of the Olympics that the opening ceremony has been organized outside the stadium.

Greece got the honor of starting

A total of 10714 athletes from 206 countries are participating in the Paris Olympics. The largest contingent is from the US, with 592 players participating. However, Greece started the athlete parade. Its athletes were the first to enter the Seine River by boat. The first Olympics were played in this country. Therefore, this country was given the honour of the first entry. After Greece, the Refugee Olympic Team entered the Seine River. Refugee players from many countries will play in the Paris Olympics under this banner. These are the athletes who are unable to play under the banner of their country due to some reasons.

Lady Gaga's performance

Along with the athlete parade, the opening ceremony started with the performance of American singer Lady Gaga. She sang and danced on the banks of the Seine River. Let us tell you that Lady Gaga has won the Grammy Award.
