Indian women's cricket team opening batsman Smriti Mandhana rocked the team with her stormy batting in the semi-final match of the Women's Asia Cup T20 2024 played against Bangladesh at the Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium on Friday (July 26). Mandhana played an unbeaten innings of 55 runs in 39 balls, in which she hit nine fours and a six.

With this half-century innings, Indian captain Harmanpreet Kaur has surpassed former Australian captain Meg Lanning to reach the second position in the list of players scoring the most runs in women's T20 International. After this innings, Mandhana's total runs have reached 3433 in 134 innings of 140 matches.

Whereas Harmanpreet has 3415 runs in 152 innings and Lanning has 3405 runs in 121 innings.

It is worth noting that in this match, India has entered the final by defeating Bangladesh by 10 wickets. After deciding to bat first, Bangladesh scored 80 runs after losing 8 wickets. In response, India won in 11 overs without losing any wicket. Apart from Mandhana, Shefali Verma scored an unbeaten 26 runs in 28 balls.

Player of the Match for India was fast bowler Renuka Thakur Singh who took 3 wickets for 10 runs.
