England vs West Indies 3rd Test: The West Indies cricket team has scored 33 runs at the loss of 3 wickets in the second innings till the end of the second day of the third and final Test being played against England at Edgbaston. West Indies is still 61 runs behind the host team. At the end of the day's play, Michael Lewis (18) and Alick Athanaze (5) returned to the pavilion unbeaten.

Chris Woakes and Gus Atkinson took 1 wicket each in the second innings for England.

On the second day, England came to play at 38 runs after losing 3 wickets in the first innings. Joe Root played a brilliant innings of 87 runs in 124 balls and captain Ben Stokes played a brilliant innings of 54 runs in 69 balls. After the return of these two to the pavilion, England seemed to be lagging behind but Jamie Smith and Chris Woakes shared a 106-run partnership for the eighth wicket.

Smith missed out on a hundred and made 95 runs off 109 balls, while Woakes made 62 runs off 78 balls.

For West Indies, in the first innings, Alzari Joseph took 4 wickets, Jaden Seals took 3 wickets, Shamar Joseph took 2 wickets and Gudakesh Moti took 1 wicket.

Earlier, after winning the toss and deciding to bat, West Indies scored 282 runs in the first innings. Captain Craig Brathwaite scored 61 runs, Jason Holder scored 59 runs and Joshua de Silva scored 49 runs.

It is noteworthy that England has an unassailable lead of 2-0 in the series.
