Gautam Gambhir has done exactly what was expected. His aggressive nature was clearly visible in Team India's game in the first T20I against Sri Lanka. The result was that the 'Indians' did not play more than 33 balls and Sri Lanka lost. The innings of the Indian batsmen was explosive, which is also evident from their strike rate. If this is not the magic of Gautam Gambhir which is ruling Team India, then what else is it?

Batting first in the first T20 match against Sri Lanka, India scored 213 runs for 7 wickets in 20 overs. Two things were special in the Indian batting. One was the balls faced by the Indian batsmen and the other was the strike rate. Gautam Gambhir's aggressive nature was visible in both.

No Indian batsman played more than 33 balls

In the first T20I against Sri Lanka, no batsman from India faced more than 33 balls. Rishabh Pant played the most number of balls, 33, and scored 49 runs with 6 fours and 1 six. His partner Yashasvi scored 40 runs in 21 balls. Shubman scored 34 runs in just 16 balls. Suryakumar Yadav scored 58 runs in 26 balls. The rest of the batsmen could play only 10 or less balls.

The strike rate of India's top order is strong

Now that you have scored more runs by playing fewer balls, it is obvious that its effect will be seen on the strike rate as well. Among the Indian batsmen, captain Suryakumar Yadav has had the highest strike rate of 223.07. After him, Shubman Gill batted at a strike rate of 212.50. Yashasvi Jaiswal scored runs at a strike rate of 190.47. Pant, on the other hand, was seen playing at a strike rate of 148.48.

Gautam Gambhir's glimpse is not only in batting but also in bowling

It is clear that Gautam Gambhir has lit a different flame in the Indian batsmen, which is seen blazing on the field. This fire of aggression lit by Gambhir was not only seen in batting but also in bowling, where at one point while chasing the target of 214 runs, Sri Lanka had scored 140 runs for just 1 wicket in 14 overs. But then in the last 5.2 overs, they lost 9 wickets for just 30 runs. And, India won the match by a huge margin of 43 runs.
