Manu Bhaker had decided to make a career in shooting when she was 14 years old. Rio Olympics had just ended in 2016. When she asked her father Ram Kishan Bhaker to bring a pistol for her shooting practice, her father respected her decision and brought her a pistol. That very decision has made Manu Bhaker an Olympian today.

Manu Bhaker participated in the National Shooting Championship in 2017 and made a shocking upset. She defeated Olympian and former world number-1 player Heena Sidhu in the final of 10 meter air pistol. Apart from this, she also won a silver medal in the Asian Junior Championship in 2017 and after that she became famous all over the country.

Record was made in debut World Cup

Manu Bhaker made her debut in the International Shooting Federation World Cup in Guadalajara, Mexico and created a world record in her debut match itself. In the women's final of 10 meter air pistol, she left behind everyone from Olympic gold medalist to World Cup winner. At the age of just 16, she became the youngest Indian to win a gold medal in the ISSF World Cup. Since then, her winning streak has not stopped and now she has hoisted her flag in the Paris Olympics as well.
