The reason behind the separate practice of those 6 Indian players is related to another big mission of coach Gautam Gambhir. Actually, all those players practicing for the ODI series are part of the ODI series.

Rohit-Virat reached Colombo, ODI practice begins

The 3-match ODI series between India and Sri Lanka is going to start from August 2, for which all the members of the ODI team including Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli have reached Colombo. According to the information received, the practice of these players of the ODI team has also started in Colombo, which is 152 kilometers away from Pallekele. Team India is currently playing the T20 series in Pallekele.

Pictures of Rohit and Virat arriving in Colombo have also surfaced. Both these players were in the UK after making India the T20 World Champion and it seems they have reached Colombo from there.

These 6 players are practicing separately from Team India

The 6 players who are away from India's T20 team and are practising for the ODI against Sri Lanka in Colombo include Rohit, Virat, Shreyas Iyer, Kuldeep Yadav, Harshit Rana and KL Rahul. All these players will play for India for the first time under the new head coach Gautam Gambhir. Among them, Shreyas Iyer and Harshit Rana have the experience of playing for KKR in IPL under Gambhir.

After T20 series it is the turn of ODI for Gautam Gambhir

After the T20 series, the ODI series against Sri Lanka will be Gautam Gambhir's second big coaching mission. He has already won the T20 series. Now it is the turn of the ODI series, where the captain of the team will be Rohit Sharma. The first ODI between India and Sri Lanka will be played on August 2. While the second ODI will be played on August 4. The third and last ODI will be on August 7. All these three matches will be held in Colombo.
