Jay Shah gave permission, now PCB will get 586 crores, still Pakistan will cry for the Champions Trophy!

There are continuous reports about the Champions Trophy to be held in Pakistan. This tournament is going to be held in Pakistan in February-March 2025, in which 8 teams are to participate. At present, the biggest problem in this is the participation of Team India because the chances of the Indian team going to Pakistan are less. There is a constant uproar in Pakistan regarding this and appeals are being made to Jai Shah, Secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India, to send the team. Whether this will happen or not will be clear in the coming time, but at present Jai Shah has passed a budget of 70 million dollars i.e. Rs 586 crore to Pakistan for organizing the tournament. However, it is also not clear from this that the entire tournament will be held in Pakistan itself.

The budget was passed after Jai Shah's decision

Recently, the ICC board meeting was held in Colombo, in which officials of all member cricket boards including BCCI secretary Jay Shah participated. In this meeting, the budget of the Champions Trophy was presented by the PCB, which was to be passed. Now a PTI report has claimed that this budget has been passed, which has been signed by BCCI boss Jay Shah. In fact, Jay Shah is the chairman of the ICC's very powerful Finance and Commercial Committee, which puts the final seal on the budget for any tournament.

Still bad news for Pakistan

The report states that this budget for the tournament was prepared by the finance department of PCB and ICC, which was examined by Jai Shah's committee and then passed. While this would have given the Pakistan Cricket Board the hope that now the tournament will be organized entirely in their country, but it is not so. Still, the Champions Trophy is most likely to be held in a hybrid model. That is why the committee headed by Jai Shah has also kept an additional budget of $ 4.5 million i.e. Rs 37.67 crore for the tournament. This can be used to organize India's matches in another country.

When is the Champions Trophy to be held?

An ICC tournament is returning to Pakistan after about 29 years. Earlier, it had hosted the 1996 World Cup along with India and Sri Lanka. In such a situation, Pakistan is eager to organize this tournament completely in its own country. A few days ago, PCB had also released a possible schedule for the tournament, in which there is a provision to keep all the matches of India in Lahore. The tournament is to be organized from 19 February to 9 March.
