After making Team India the T20 World Champion, Captain Rohit Sharma has once again returned to the field. Rohit made a comeback in the ODI series against Sri Lanka which started on Friday, August 2. Due to retirement from T20 International, Rohit was not a part of the T20 series against Sri Lanka. With the start of the ODI series, the wait to see him play again is over. With this, Rohit Sharma's funny statements have returned, which reach the fans through the stump mic. Something similar was heard in the first ODI match as well, when the captain jokingly scolded his own bowler and then started laughing himself.

The Sri Lankan team came out to bat first at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo and the Indian spinners showed their prowess and put the Sri Lankan batsmen in trouble. Spinner-all-rounder Washington Sundar played an important role in this, whose balls the Sri Lankan batsmen had no answer to. Young all-rounder Dunith Vellalage had just come to the crease from Sri Lanka and as soon as he came, the Indian spinners started troubling him. He was given out LBW against Sundar on the very first ball but this decision was overturned by DRS.

Rohit had fun with Sundar

Shortly after, in the 29th over, Sundar again came to bowl and his fifth ball hit Vellalage's foot. Sundar and wicketkeeper KL Rahul appealed for LBW, which was rejected by the umpire. In such a situation, Sundar kept looking at captain Rohit stationed at slip with great expectations that he should take DRS and this is where the funny drama happened. Rohit first looked at Sundar, then looked at Rahul and then looking back at Sundar said - What, you tell me (whether it is in the line of the stump or not), why are you looking at me, will I do all the work?' While saying this, Rohit himself started laughing and the commentators also could not stop laughing.

Vellalage's powerful innings

Rohit did not take this DRS and his decision proved right because Vellalaage did not get out. After this, the Sri Lankan batsman played a brilliant innings and brought the team back and put the Indian team in trouble. Vellalaage, who came at number 7, remained firm till the end and returned unbeaten after scoring 67 runs in 65 balls. On the basis of his innings, Sri Lanka scored a match-worthy score of 230 runs.
