Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli made many new players debut during their captaincy. There is another player who made his debut during Virat's captaincy. Now it has been 1105 days since he played an international match for Team India. After missing many big tournaments, he did not get a chance even on the Sri Lanka tour. However, this player has now turned to England and has made a blast there with his bat. Here we are talking about none other than Prithvi Shaw, who has been called the second Sachin since the time of Under-19. Now he has created a sensation with his stormy batting in England's ODI Cup.
Prithvi Shaw is not being given opportunities in Team India. That is why he is currently playing for Northamptonshire in England's domestic ODI tournament. He has scored a stormy half-century against Durham. Prithvi scored 97 runs in just 71 balls at a strike rate of 136. During this, he hit a lot of fours. The innings of 97 included 16 fours and 1 six, that is, he scored 70 runs only from boundaries. However, his innings did not help the team.
Prithvi had made a great start, but as soon as he was out, wickets started falling in quick succession. Northamptonshire could only score 260 runs, which Durham's team chased with 11 balls to spare at the loss of 6 wickets. Prithvi Shaw is in great form in this tournament and has scored 222 runs in 4 matches so far. In his previous match, he scored 76 runs in 58 balls. He scored 40 runs in 34 balls against Hampshire and 9 runs against Derbyshire.
Prithvi Shaw made his Test debut against West Indies under the captaincy of Virat Kohli in 2018 at the age of only 18. He scored a century in the first innings of this debut match. However, in 6 years he has been able to play only 5 Test matches, in which he has scored 339 runs at an average of 42. Since then Virat Kohli did not give him a chance. Later when Rohit Sharma became the captain, he also did not include Prithvi Shaw in the team. He played his last Test match against Australia in Adelaide in 2020.
Prithvi also made his ODI debut under Virat's captaincy against New Zealand in 2020, but could play only 6 matches in it too. He played his last ODI against Sri Lanka on 23 July 2021. Prithvi played his only T20 match under the captaincy of Shikhar Dhawan against Sri Lanka on 25 July 2021 and this was his last international match for Team India, which has been 1105 days.
