Veteran fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah (Jasprit Bumrah) played an important role in helping India win the T20 World Cup 2024. Now former India head coach Ravi Shastri has picked Bumrah's spells against Pakistan and South Africa in the final as his favourite moments from the T20 World Cup 2024. Apart from this, the former cricketer praised Bumrah for his brilliant bowling throughout the tournament.

Shastri said, “I think India-Pakistan because India is made to fight there and realise what the right combination should be to move forward in the tournament. That and then, of course, the final, those last five overs (from the T20 World Cup final). I would say one is Jasprit getting the wicket of Mohammad Rizwan. Very important, because it could have changed the balance of the game. And it happened on the first ball of the new spell.”

The former head coach further added, “(Bumrah) was brought back into the attack and then it reversed and hit the stumps through the bat and pad (of Marco Jansen), I thought it was a very important wicket at that point. Hardik did the main damage by dismissing Klaasen (in the previous over), but I thought back-to-back, that over and that wicket was extremely important.”

“He showed the world what it takes, and you know, it doesn't happen very often in your career when you have the ball in your hand and you say, do this and the ball does that. Very few people have done that, I thought Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis had it at their peak when they played white-ball cricket. Shane Warne had that where he could literally tell the ball, go there, pitch it there, hit it on the leg stump. People who are at the top of the game have that ability. I think Bumrah had that in this World Cup,” Shastri said.

Batting first against Pakistan in the T20 World Cup 2024, India was all out for 119 runs in 19 overs. Chasing the target, Pakistan could only score 114 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs. Bumrah took 3 wickets for 14 runs in 4 overs in this match. In the final match, India batted first and scored 176 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs. Chasing the target, South Africa could only score 169 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 20 overs. Bumrah took 2 wickets for 18 runs in 4 overs in this match.
