KL Rahul: The second match of the 3-match ODI series being played against Sri Lanka was played on Sunday at the Colombo ground. In this match, Team India's wicketkeeper batsman KL Rahul could not do anything special and returned to the pavilion without opening his account.

Due to which Rahul may have to be dropped from the ODI team as well. The third match of the ODI series is to be played on 7th August at the Colombo ground. In the third ODI match, the team's head coach Gautam Gambhir can now take a big decision and can drop KL Rahul and give a place to Virat Kohli's disciple in the team.

KL Rahul could not even open the account

In the second match against Sri Lanka, Sri Lanka gave Team India a target of 241 runs in 50 overs. In response to which Team India had a great start and the opening batsmen added 97 runs for the first wicket. But after this Team India's batting faltered.

But the team had expectations from KL Rahul. But Rahul returned to the pavilion without opening his account. Due to which he is now in danger of being dropped from the team. Rahul could not do anything special even in the first ODI match.

Now Kohli's disciple can get a place

This series has not been anything special for Team India's legendary batsman Virat Kohli either. Because, Kohli has not been able to play any big innings in the first two matches. However, now Kohli's big fan and Team India's young player Riyan Parag may get a chance in the third ODI match in place of KL Rahul.

Riyan Parag is currently in great form and he performed well in the T20 series against Sri Lanka, due to which Riyan Parag can now get a chance to debut in ODIs as well.

Rahul may be discharged from the team

Let us tell you that KL Rahul is not getting a chance in the T20 format since 2022. While now Rahul can also be dropped from the ODI format forever. Because, Rahul has been a complete flop in the series against Sri Lanka. Due to which now head coach Gambhir can also permanently drop Rahul from ODIs.
