in the ODI series against Sri Lanka Indian Team India is trailing 0-1 and now it has to win the last match at any cost to avoid losing the series. Gautam Gambhir is on the target of critics due to some decisions in the second ODI. Now, former Indian fast bowler Ashish Nehra has also criticized Gambhir by taking him to task.

Nehra has criticized head coach Gautam Gambhir for including Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli in the ODI team against Sri Lanka. Nehra believes that this series against Sri Lanka was a better opportunity to test India's new talent. Earlier there were reports that both Rohit and Kohli would not play in this ODI series, but Gambhir requested them to play in the three-match series as he wanted to spend time with them. This series is also Gambhir's first assignment as India's head coach.

Speaking on Sony Sports, Ashish Nehra said, “India's next series is after 2-3 months, which is a rare thing for us. So for players like Rohit and Kohli, I think there was a better opportunity to give other players a chance during this series. I know Gambhir is the new coach and he wants to spend some time with the experienced players, but it is not that he does not know both of them.”

He further said, “He is not a foreign coach who wants to get his equation right with Kohli and Rohit. So this was a good opportunity for him to try new players and Rohit and Kohli could play when the domestic season starts. I am not saying that this is the wrong way, but this could be one of the strategies for this series.”
