In the 17th match of The Hundred tournament, Welsh Fire and Southern Brave clashed in which Southern Brave won easily by 42 runs. In this match, Welsh Fire won the toss and decided to bowl first, after which Southern Brave scored 139 runs in 100 balls on the basis of James Vince's innings of 73 runs. In response, the Welsh Fire team was all out after scoring just 97 runs and Southern Brave won this match by a huge margin of 42 runs.
West Indies batsman Kieron Pollard, playing for Southern Brave in this match, could not do anything special with the bat but he left no stone unturned to entertain the fans during fielding. During the match against Welsh Fire on Monday night, after taking a catch, he recreated the famous pose of Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar in the film Hera Pheri.
After taking an easy catch of David Willey, Pollard posed like Akshay and kept staring at the spectators in the stands. This incident happened during the last set of Welsh Fire's innings, when veteran all-rounder David Willey tried to hit a six off veteran fast bowler Tymal Mills but was deceived by Mills' slower ball and missed the aerial shot. Pollard, standing at long on, took an easy catch to end Willey's 14-ball innings. After completing this catch, Pollard posed like Akshay and was seen staring at the home crowd. You can see the video of this incident below.
At the same time, with a spectacular victory of 42 runs, the Southern Brave team has secured the first position in the points table. Southern Brave has played 5 matches so far in which they have 8 points with 4 wins and 1 loss. Oval Invincibles and Northern Superchargers are on 6-6 points but the Invincibles team is in second place due to net run rate.
