ICC ODI Rankings: Indian captain and star batsman Rohit Sharma has benefited from his excellent performance in the ODI series against Sri Lanka. Rohit has come closer to Babar Azam, the number 1 batsman in the ICC men's ODI rankings.

Rohit scored two half-centuries in the first two matches of the series against Sri Lanka, which benefited him in the rankings released on Wednesday, August 7. Rohit has reached number three, he has 763 rating points and he is just 61 rating points behind Babar, who is at number 1.

Rohit's fellow opener Shubman Gill remains at number two in the rankings, he has 782 rating points. However, Virat Kohli has slipped one place to number four. He scored only 43 runs in the first two ODIs against Sri Lanka.

There has also been a change in the ODI ranking of bowlers. Kuldeep Yadav, who took 3 wickets in the first two matches, has climbed five places to reach the fourth position.
