Team India lost ODI series to Sri Lanka after 27 years, Indian batting failed miserably in the third match

Team India has faced a sensational defeat in the ODI series against Sri Lanka. In the third ODI match played in Colombo, Team India's batting proved to be a complete flop and as a result, it lost the series to Sri Lanka 0-2. In response to Sri Lanka's 248 runs, Team India collapsed for 138 runs. The Indian team was all out in just 26.1 overs. This defeat is also big because India has lost the ODI series to Sri Lanka after 27 years. Team India last lost the ODI series to Sri Lanka in the year 1997 but now this series has also ended.

Batsmen failed in the third ODI too

Team India has many great batsmen but on the spin friendly pitch of Sri Lanka, no batsman other than Rohit Sharma could show his strength. Talking about the third match, Shubman Gill was out after scoring just 6 runs. Virat Kohli could also score 20 runs. Rishabh Pant got a chance for the first time in the ODI series and he could score only 6 runs. Shreyas Iyer was out after scoring 8 runs, Axar Patel after scoring 2 runs. Riyan Parag scored 15 runs. Shivam Dubey could contribute only 9 runs. Apart from Shubman Gill, all the batsmen fell prey to spinners.
