Once again a case of fixing has come to light in the cricket world. The surprising thing is that the ICC has taken a big action due to fixing in two different leagues simultaneously. The ICC has banned an international cricketer as well as a former Pakistani player for 5 years. Both these cases have come to light from the Kabul Premier League and the Abu Dhabi T10 League.

This Afghan cricketer got caught in match fixing

The International Cricket Council has banned Afghanistan's top order batsman Ihsanullah Janat for 5 years on charges of match fixing. Ihsanullah Janat violated the anti-corruption code of the ACB and ICC during the second edition of the Kabul Premier League earlier this year, after which this action has been taken. The ACB said in a statement, 'Janat has been found guilty of violating Article 2.1.1 of the ICC Anti-Corruption Code and due to this he has been banned from all cricket related activities for five years. He has accepted the charges and confessed to being involved in corrupt activities.'

The Afghanistan Cricket Board has also said that the Anti-Corruption Unit of the ACB is also investigating three other players for corrupt activities. In such a situation, if these players are also found guilty, they can also be banned. Talking about Ihsanullah Janat, he has played in all three formats for Afghanistan. This 26-year-old batsman has played 3 Tests, 16 ODIs and one T20 match for Afghanistan.

Who was taken action against in Abu Dhabi T10 League?

The ICC has banned Abu Dhabi T10 League's Pune Devils team batting coach Ashar Zaidi and Devils co-owners Parag Sanghvi and Krishna Kumar Chaudhary after admitting corrupt activities in the 2021 Abu Dhabi T10 League. Former Pakistan all-rounder Ashar Zaidi has been banned from all cricket activities for five years. At the same time, Sanghvi and Chaudhary have been banned for two years after admitting two violations of the Emirates Cricket Board's anti-corruption code. Let us tell you, Zaidi, Sanghvi and Chaudhary are among the eight people who were accused by the ICC on behalf of the Emirates Board in September 2023.
