Surya has confirmed his participation in the Buchi Babu Tournament to further on improve his preparations for the upcoming Test series against Australia in December. While playing under Sarfaraz Khan, he aims to gain value match practice in the longer format of the game. Surya has confirmed his appearance for the second half of the Buchi babu Tournament, as he represents team Mumbai. Initially being absent from the squad, Surya has expressed he is willing to play under the captaincy of Sarfaraz Khan. He is expected to make his debut against Jammu and Kashmir on August 27.
