The Indian hockey team recently won a bronze medal for the country in the Paris Olympics. India defeated Spain 2-1 in the bronze medal match. After this historic victory, some players of the Indian team have returned to India. The Indian players were given a grand welcome with drums and trumpets at the Delhi airport. But amidst all this, a debate has started on social media. Some fans believe that the players of the Indian hockey team have been insulted on returning home. They have also given the reason behind this.
Fans had gathered outside the airport since morning waiting for the Indian players. As soon as the players returned, they were welcomed with drums and trumpets. But this crowd was much less than the Indian team that returned to India after winning the T20 World Cup. There is no doubt that cricket is the most popular sport in the country, and when cricket is compared to other sports, there is a lot of difference in it. Something similar was seen this time too.
On the other hand, questions are also being raised on the bus in which the Indian hockey team was taken. Actually, it was an ordinary Volvo bus, in which not many facilities were visible. On the other hand, Team India was taken from Delhi Airport to the hotel in a luxury bus. Photos of these two buses are going viral on social media, after which fans are accusing of discrimination.
