India is scheduled to play only 6 ODIs before the Champions Trophy 2025, out of which 3 ODIs were played recently against Sri Lanka. The number of ODIs played nowadays has reduced. Usually a player expects to get a long innings in any format. However, it is unfortunate that some players had to get only 1 game to their name. Keeping this in mind, we will tell you about those 5 Indian players who played 1 ODI after 2020 and then were dropped from the team.

1. Nitish Rana

Nitish Rana is one of those Indians who played 1 ODI after 2020 and then was dropped from the team. Gautam Gambhir is currently the head coach and in such a situation, Rana can be seen returning to the team. Rana was part of the Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2024 and the team won the title under Gambhir's mentorship. Rana was part of the Indian team that toured Sri Lanka in July 2021. He scored 7 runs in an ODI match played on that tour.

2. Ravi Bishnoi

Leg spinner Ravi Bishnoi has also managed to make his place in this list. At present, it seems that Ravi is limited to T20 format. Kuldeep Yadav and Washington Sundar are being given more preference for the 50-over format. However, he may be seen making a comeback in this format. Bishnoi made his ODI debut against South Africa on 6 July 2022 and after that he did not get a chance to play. In this match, Ravi took one wicket for 69 runs in 8 overs.

3. Rahul Chahar

Rahul Chahar has played a lot of T20 International matches for the Indian team. However, due to Yuzvendra Chahal retaining his place in the ODIs, Rahul could play only one ODI. After that he never got a chance to play for Team India in the 50-over format. Rahul took 3 wickets for 54 runs in 10 overs in his debut ODI match against Sri Lanka on 23 July 2021.

4. Krishnappa Gowtham

Krishnappa Gowtham is one of those Indians who played 1 ODI after 2020 and then was dropped from the team. He was one of the surprise selections when India toured Sri Lanka. The Karnataka all-rounder played one game and was dropped after that. In that match, he scored 2 runs with the bat and took a wicket while bowling.

5. Chetan Sakariya

After his strong performance for Rajasthan Royals in 2021 UAE, left-arm fast bowler Chetan Sakariya managed to make a place in the Indian team. However, except for this series, he did not get a chance again. He is now seen struggling for matches in IPL as well. Chetan took 2 wickets in his debut ODI match against Sri Lanka in 2023.
