The new season of BCCI is going to start from September. Team India is going to play the first series of the upcoming season against Bangladesh at home. During this time 2 test matches will be played. The first match will be played from 19th and the second match from 27th September. There was talk of conducting pink ball i.e. day-night test match during this series. However, BCCI secretary Jay Shah has clearly refused for this. He has cited the loss behind this as the biggest reason.

The match gets over in 2-3 days

The Pink Ball Test was started in 2015. Its first match was played between Australia and New Zealand. Team India played its first Pink Ball Test in 2019 against Bangladesh. This match was over in 2 days, in which India defeated Bangladesh badly. Let us tell you that India has played only 4 day-night Test matches till date, in which it lost to Australia in one. All these four matches have been one-sided and ended in 3 days at most. In view of all these things, the BCCI has decided not to play the Pink Ball Test in India.

Loss of fans and broadcasters

While talking to the media in Mumbai, Jay Shah said that fans buy tickets and come to watch a good match, but it gets over in 2-3 days. This causes them a loss. Apart from this, broadcasters also have to bear losses.

There was no talk with BCB

After violent protests in Bangladesh, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina had to leave the country. At the same time, many officials of the Bangladesh Cricket Board also had to flee because of being her supporters. Since then, all the big posts including the president are vacant. Jai Shah has said that the Bangladesh series means a lot to the BCCI. However, there has been no talk with BCB about this yet. He has also talked about getting in touch in the next few days. He also told that there was an application to shift the Women's T20 World Cup to be held in Bangladesh to India, but Jai Shah rejected it.
