It sounds a bit strange to hear that there is an ICC tournament and there is no clash between India and Pakistan. But don't be shocked, because now this is going to happen. ICC has taken a surprising decision. The Under-19 World Cup of Women's Cricket is going to be held in 2025. In this tournament, there will be no match between India and Pakistan during the group stage. ICC has kept both the teams in different groups. No one is able to believe this decision, because the rivalry between the two countries has been going on for years. Fans also eagerly wait for this match. ICC takes advantage of this to increase viewership and keeps Team India and Pakistan in the same group in every tournament. However, this time it will not happen.
The Under-19 Women's Cricket World Cup will begin on 18 January 2025, which will be hosted by Malaysia. Like 2023, this time too 16 teams are going to participate. There will be a total of 41 matches in this tournament starting on 18 January. Its final match will be played on 2 February. All teams will play warm-up matches between 13 and 16 January. At the same time, the Samoa team is going to debut in an ICC tournament for the first time. Earlier, Samoa has not played any ICC tournament in any age group. Let us tell you that Thailand was earlier going to co-host this tournament, but later withdrew its name.
In this tournament, 16 teams have been divided into 4 groups. Each group will have 4 teams. This time, defending champion India is in Group A and it includes West Indies, Sri Lanka and host country Malaysia. Pakistan, which lost to Team India in the final, is in Group B. This group also includes teams from England, Ireland and America. Group C includes New Zealand, South Africa, Samoa and a qualifier team from Africa. Apart from this, Group D includes Australia, Bangladesh, Scotland and a qualifier team from Asia.
Let us tell you that 4 venues have been selected in Malaysia to host the tournament. All the matches of Group A i.e. India will be played at Bayumas Oval Cricket Stadium in Selangor. The final match of the tournament will also be played on this ground. Whereas Group B i.e. Pakistan will play its matches at Dr. Harjit Singh Johor Cricket Stadium.
