The murder and rape incident in Kolkata's RG Kar Hospital has shaken the whole country. Every citizen of the country is shocked by this painful incident. Due to the lack of concrete action from the government, doctors across the country have come out on the streets. Students and political parties are also protesting against it. Celebrities from Bollywood and sports world have also started raising their voice to get justice for the victim. Recently, many cricketers had demanded justice through social media. Now the name of former cricketer Harbhajan Singh has also been added to this campaign. He has written a letter to the West Bengal government, CBI and the country demanding action.
Harbhajan Singh, in a letter addressed to Mamata government and CBI, described rape as a social problem. He said that the Kolkata incident is not a simple crime committed against a single person. Through this, the dignity of women of the entire society has been hurt. Such an incident in a place like a hospital shows to what extent this problem has become ingrained. He expressed sympathy towards the doctors and said that they are already working in a challenging environment. No expectations should be given from them when such an incident happens.

In his letter, Harbhajan has expressed disappointment over the lack of any concrete action. He says that even after so many days of the incident, no proper action has been taken against the perpetrators. Therefore, the doctors' strike is absolutely justified. Harbhajan further said that he is with the doctors in this fight for justice. He has demanded strict action in this case from Mamata government of Bengal and CBI. He has also asked for a change in the system and society.
Recently Jaspreet Bumrah, Shreyas Iyer, Mohammad Siraj and Arshdeep Singh who play for Kolkata Knight Riders were furious over this matter. They raised their voice on social media and demanded action.
