Despite a strong performance in the Paris Olympics, Vinesh Phogat had to return to the country without a medal. However, despite being disqualified, she fought a legal battle for the medal, but it did not work. In such a situation, the Indian wrestler was very sad. Despite hard work and passion, she was sad to return empty-handed. She bid farewell to Paris with a heavy heart. She would not have even thought that on her return to India, she would be welcomed like a champion. On the morning of August 17, when she landed at Delhi airport, hundreds of people welcomed Vinesh with drums and music. Seeing so much love, she became emotional and started crying. However, on the other hand, there was a 10-year-old child in her village Balali, who worked hard all day for her felicitation ceremony.

kept working for 13 hours

A grand program was prepared to welcome Vinesh. There was a festive atmosphere from Delhi to her village. She had to reach her village from Delhi via Dwarka Expressway. Her villagers had collected donations and prepared for a grand felicitation ceremony. According to the report of Indian Express, about 750 kg of desi ghee laddus were made for this program. At the same time, people coming to this program including this villager were also donating according to their faith. The responsibility of looking after all these things was given to 10-year-old Anshaj Kumar.

The distance from Delhi to Balali is about 135 km and it takes about 3.30 hours to reach there. But due to the road show with a large convoy, Vinesh took about 13 hours to cover this distance. The Indian wrestler left the Delhi airport at 11 am and it was midnight by the time she reached her village. During this time, Anshaj kept guarding the laddus in the temple. Along with this, he also kept writing the account of donations in his school notebook while sitting in the corner of the stage made for Vinesh.

When Anshaj was questioned about Vinesh being out, he said, "Didi is gold for us. Whenever she used to win, we all used to get laddus. Her being out was quite surprising for us. For us, she is the winner of the Olympics and I want to tell her this."

What did the villagers give?

The people of Vinesh's village donated money according to their capacity. The village guard gave 100 rupees. During this, he cried remembering Vinesh's struggle. Someone presented her a turban, while someone presented her a sword. Let us tell you that Vinesh was also awarded a gold medal.
