The Bangladesh team is currently on a tour of Pakistan. A 2-match Test series will be played between the two teams on this tour. Before the start of this series, the Pakistan team has suffered a major setback. A star player of Pakistan has been ruled out of this series. Due to injury, this player has had to withdraw his name from the series. The exclusion of this player may prove costly for the Pakistan team.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has given an update that fast bowler all-rounder Aamir Jamal has been ruled out of the two-Test series against Bangladesh. Jamal was initially included in the team but has been dropped from the team due to lack of fitness clearance. He was already unlikely to play in the first Test starting in Rawalpindi on August 21 as he had not fully recovered from his back injury, but now he has also been ruled out of the second Test starting on August 30.
Aamir Jamal has been suffering from lower back problems since May this year. Jamal will currently work on his fitness at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore and will be eyeing to regain fitness before the Test series against England in October. Jamal was Pakistan's highest wicket-taker on the tour of Australia in 2023-24, taking 18 wickets in three Tests. But since then he has not been able to play much.
