Everyone knows that the Board of Control for Cricket in India is the richest cricket board in the world, but everyone wants to know how much money is in its treasury. From IPL to various sponsors, the Indian board's earnings are in crores. In the last few years, IPL has emerged as its biggest source of income and its effect is also visible on the board's treasury. BCCI has released its financial statement for 2022-23 and the amount that has come out in it will blow anyone's mind. The board's treasury has a bank balance of more than Rs 16 thousand crore after the last financial year. At the same time, the board has earned more than 11 thousand crores from the IPL 2023 season itself.

Tremendous earnings from one IPL season

Obviously, BCCI has earned the most from IPL and here the board has earned tremendous profit along with the earnings. The Economic Times report states that the Indian board has earned Rs 11769 crore from the IPL 2023 season alone, which has increased by 78 percent year on year. According to the board's annual report, it got Rs 5120 crore as profit and surplus from IPL 2023. This is 116 percent more than IPL 2022, when it had a surplus of Rs 2367 crore.

The money received from many sponsors of Team India including IPL plays a big role in BCCI's earnings, but the board earns the most money from broadcasting rights and the current IPL deal (2023-27) has proved to be the most important in this. BCCI had made a broadcasting deal of Rs 48390 crore for IPL in 2022 and this is what has taken the board's earnings to this height. Due to this, BCCI earned Rs 8744 crore from this deal in IPL 2023, which was Rs 3780 crore in IPL 2022. That is, the board's earnings have increased by 131 percent.

Bank balance is also great, and income will increase

Not only the earnings, but BCCI's expenses in IPL have also increased, which has increased by 66 percent to Rs 6648 crore. In total, the Indian Board has Rs 16493.2 crore in the bank from current accounts to FDs. BCCI has also paid GST in crores for the amount it has earned in savings instruments. BCCI has said that it has paid a total GST of Rs 2038 crore.

The BCCI has not yet presented the report of earnings from 2023-24, due to which the board's earnings are expected to increase even more. Not only this, this income will increase further in the next few seasons because currently 74 matches are being organized in the tournament of 10 teams. The BCCI is planning to increase it to 84 matches in the next season and if this happens, then the board's earnings from media rights to sponsorship are sure to increase further.
