Rohit Sharma offers a stark take on being the most successful IPL skipper
Rohit Sharma has had a lot of success in adding titles, be it the bilateral series or the IPL. He recently checked off an ICC title after Team India's T20 World Cup win at Barbados. The India ODI and Test skipper recently offered a stark perspective, saying that the hunger to win a title remains strong, which is why he won five IPL titles as the skipper of the Mumbai Indians. The skipper's ambition to add more trophies to his case is unquenchable.
"There is a reason I won five IPL trophies. I'm not going to stop, because once you get the taste of winning games, winning Cups, you don't want to stop and we'll keep pushing as a team. We'll keep striving for better things in the future,"Rohit Sharma said at the CEAT Cricket Rating Awards.
Rohit Sharma-Hardik Pandya Issue
Team India will have some critical targets in the future, which include the Border-Gavaskar Trophy series. The series is expected to be a challenging one, but Rohit Sharma will be aiming for more such achievements.
"We've got a couple of solid tours coming up, very challenging ones as well. For us, it never stops. Once you achieve something you always look forward to achieving more. That is what I will be doing. I'm pretty sure my teammates will be thinking on the same line. What I've seen in the last two years in Indian cricket, there's some real excitement, some real good cricket is being played," Rohit Sharma added.
After the Sri Lanka ODIs, Rohit Sharma is expected to return to action in the Bangladesh series. He will be a part of the two-match Test series and will lead the side as the skipper. The first Test match will take place from September 19, 2024.
