Pakistan cricket always gives some new spice to its fans all over the world. Whether it is the drama of the cricket board, the fights related to captaincy and selection in the cricket team or the shameful performance of the team on the field, Pakistan cricket has always been ahead in making headlines. All these three things have been going on together for the last several months but for now let's talk only about the performance of the team on the field, which is declining day by day. Its most recent sight was seen in Rawalpindi, where Pakistan had to face a shameful defeat by 10 wickets at the hands of Bangladesh. With this, the Pakistani team had to face shame in front of the world in all three formats within three years.
It started with the T20 World Cup 2022. In that World Cup, the Pakistani team did play the final but before the final it had to face a sensational defeat. Then in the group stage match, Pakistan was defeated by 1 run. Despite having batsmen like Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, Shan Masood, the Pakistani team could not even achieve the target of just 131 runs and lost.
After the T20 World Cup, it was the turn of the ODI format and this time too Pakistan had to face humiliation in the World Cup itself. In the World Cup 2023, Pakistan suffered a crushing defeat at the hands of Afghanistan. Then in this match played in Chennai, the Pakistani team scored 282 runs and Afghanistan defeated Pakistan by 8 wickets by losing only 2 wickets. This was Afghanistan's first win against Pakistan in any format. By the way, in that World Cup, Afghanistan shocked other teams as well and performed brilliantly.
Now it was the turn of 2024 and this year is proving to be the most shameful for Pakistan so far, in which 2 different matches will be recorded as black days in its cricket history. It was the day of 6 June when it was surprised by the brand new US team in the T20 World Cup. Pakistan somehow managed to tie that match but then the US registered a spectacular victory in the super over. The effect of this defeat was that Pakistan was eliminated from the group stage itself.
Pakistani fans were considering 6 June as the worst day for their cricket team but 25 August was waiting for them. After facing humiliation in ODI and T20, it was the turn of Test cricket and finally here too they had to face the most shameful defeat. After playing excellent cricket for 4 consecutive days in Rawalpindi, Bangladesh bowled out Pakistan for just 146 runs in the second innings on the 5th day i.e. 25 August and thus got a target of just 30 runs. In this way, Bangladesh crushed Pakistan by 10 wickets and succeeded in defeating Pakistan for the first time in this format.
