The 10-team show-piece tournament, originally scheduled to be staged in Bangladesh, was moved to the UAE by ICC Board in the recent meeting held on August 20 after many players expressed concerns around security in the country due to the prevailing political unrest. The tournament proper, featuring 20 matches, will be held at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai and Sharjah Cricket Stadium in Sharjah from October 3 to 20. The 10 teams will be divided into two groups of five teams with each team facing every other team of their respective group once. But before that all the teams including India, will warm up for the tournament with two matches each in Dubai. A total of 10 warm-up matches will be held from 28 September to 1 October with all the practice games set to be taking place at the Sevens Stadium and the ICC Academy grounds in Dubai. India face West Indies and South Africa at the ICC Academy grounds, while reigning champions Australia take on former champions England and West Indies.
