Born on 8 September 1999 in Fazilka, Punjab, Shubman Gill caught the attention of the cricket world when he played an important role in helping India win the 2018 Under-19 World Cup. Exactly 10 years before him, Virat Kohli was also a part of the Under-19 World Cup winning team. The only difference was that Kohli was the captain, while Gill was an important batsman of the team. He scored 126 runs in 63 balls against New Zealand and broke Kohli's record of 122 runs. Not only this, at the age of 23, he scored a double century in ODI cricket against New Zealand and became the youngest batsman in the world to do so.
