USA faced UAE on 18 September in the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup League 2 match. Even before the result of this match was reached, the UAE team seemed to be going bankrupt. The match was a one-day match but the USA players worsened the situation by taking 6 wickets within the first 13 overs due to their excellent bowling. Most of the bowlers who destroyed the UAE batting line-up for USA have links with India.
In the match, USA won the toss and asked UAE to bat first. This decision of USA captain Monak Patel paid off. UAE team was seen falling apart in front of USA's devastating bowling. USA got its first success in the third over itself, when UAE had only 3 runs on its scoreboard. One ball after this, UAE got its third blow. In this way, it got 2 blows on just 3 runs. Both these wickets were taken by Saurabh Netravalkar.
By the end of the 12th over, USA gave UAE two more jolts. That is, after 12 overs, they lost 4 wickets for 40 runs. The next two wickets were taken by Nashtus Kenjige. But, the situation was to get worse for UAE, which happened in the next i.e. 13th over. Before this over ended, two more wickets fell on back to back balls. Both these wickets, which fell on the 4th and 5th balls of the over, were taken by Jasdeep Singh.
After this, however, a partnership was formed between Rahul Chopra and Ali Nasir. But this partnership had just reached 40 runs when Milind Kumar broke it and gave UAE the 7th blow. Of course, lower order batsman Rahul Chopra tried to make some great partnerships for UAE but it could not succeed.
The UAE team could not play the full 50 overs and was all out after scoring 106 runs in 31.2 overs. Jasdeep Singh took the most wickets from USA. He took 4 wickets for 18 runs in 5 overs.
Saurabh Netravalkar, Jasdeep Singh and Milind Kumar, who took wickets of UAE's top order, belong to India. Saurabh Netravalkar has been a part of India's Under 19 team and has played cricket for Mumbai. Milind Kumar is from Delhi. Apart from playing domestic cricket for Delhi and Sikkim, he has also played in the IPL. Although Jasdeep Singh was born in America, his family returned to Punjab when he was 3 years old. But, at the age of 13, he again went to America.
