The Delhi Capitals are yet to name their replacement for England batter Harry Brook in IPL 2025 who has withdrawn from the tournament to focus on his national team commitments.
Delhi Capitals had bought him for INR 6.25 crore in the auction, but this is the second time in a row he has withdrawn from the tournament.
With his recent decision, he has risked a ban from the IPL. According to the new rule, any player who pulls out after being picked in the auction can be banned from the league and player auction for the next two seasons.
“Any player who registers in the player auction and after getting picked at the auction, makes himself unavailable before the start of the season, will get banned from participating in the tournament and player auction for 2 Seasons,” said the New IPL rule.
Listed below are the some of the players who could possibly replace Harry Brook in IPL 2025.
The New Zealander Daryl Mitchell is likely be a front runner to replace Harry Brook in the IPL 2025 season. His ability to bat at any position in the batting order makes him potential replacement for the England batter.
Having played 15 matches across 2022 and 2024 season, he has 351 runs at an average of 27.00 with a high sccore 63.
His experience in various T20 leagues around the world has equipped him with the adaptability required for the IPL. Mitchell’s recent form hints his readiness to take on challengers.
Ben Duckett is one of the options that Delhi Capitals can look at. He has been in great form across formats recently. He was England’s top performer in the Champions Trophy 2025, scoring 227 runs in three matches.
Having played in the BBL, he has scored 243 runs in the seven matches. He could be a potential contender to replace Harry Brook in the Delhi Capitals campaigm for IPL 2025.
The South Africa youngster Dewald Brevis is a powerful hitter of the ball and has batted from number 01 to number 07 in his career. His past experience in the IPL 2022 and 2024 migh also help him in the upcoming 2025 season.
Having went unsold in the IPL 2025 auction, he had played 10 matches in the season and amassed 230 runs with an average of 49. He could be a suitable replacement for Harry Brook in IPL 2025.
