India's long distance runner Archana Jadhav has been banned for four years. This ban has been imposed due to failure in the dope test held in January. Archana did not lodge any objection in this case, after which World Athletics considered her move to be a crime. According to the Athletes Integrity Unit (AIU) of World Athletics, a sample of Archana Jadhav, which was taken during the Pune Half-Marathon in December last year, was found to be banned in oxendrolone. It is a synthetic anabolic steroid, which increases protein and muscles in the body.
This ban on Archana has been imposed since January 7, and during this time Archana had to face temporary suspension. On 25 February, he responded to the allegation of violation in an email to AIU, in which he said, "Forgive me, sir… I welcome your decision." AIU understood it that Archana does not need a hearing and she is satisfied with the decision of the association. Now these players will not be able to enter the track till 2029.
According to reports, IU said that Archana was given time till March 3 so that she could accept the violation of anti-doping rules. After this, on February 28, the Athletics Federation of India (AFI) also reminded him. However, AIU did not get any response from Archana. AIU also said that Archana did not prove that the anti-doping rules were violated "unknowingly". After this, he has been banned for four years from 7 January. After this decision, now Archana will have to give all the awards, medals, points, reward and money back during this period.
Archana Jadhav took part in the Delhi Half Marathon in October 2024, where she finished fourth in the Indian women's race. His time was 1: 20.21, while Lily Das, Kavita Yadav and Preity Lamba performed better with him. Archana's personal best time in 10,000 meters is 35: 44.26, while in half marathon it is 1:20:21.
